The PAFAM Compress Pack contains everything you need to make a compress:
- Wooden spatula to apply the ointment
- Cotton cloth to apply ointment/oil
- Wadding that is placed underneath the cotton cloth
- Outer flannelette piece of cloth
- 4 x safety pins for holding the corners of the compress in place
Instructions
- Dab the inner cotton cloth in a large circle with oi or with the ointment spread evenly
- Fold the whole compress with the cloth in the center of it in half and place in a plastic bag, warm thoroughly through with a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel
- After about 30 minutes when thoroughly warmed, remove from the plastic bag, unfold the compress, and cover the area to be treated
- Wrap a large scarf or towel over and leave in place on the body for as long as possible
- These cloths are best applied at night and left in place. If this is not possible leave in place for 45 minutes and after removing the cloth lie and rest for at least another thirty minutes
- The inner cloth can be used repeatedly with the same oil or ointment only (and only for the same person)
- If you wish to change oil/ointment or to use on another person, the inner cloth must be thoroughly washed
